VNC connection to Apple Mac OS X

Sometimes the fastest way to connect remotely to an Apple Mac OS X computer is to use VNC. I’ve tried many other remote clients: the easiest and free one remains VNC.

Enable Screen Sharing on the Mac

On your Mac, click the Apple logo in the top left corner of the screen and select System Preferences. Click Sharing and make sure that Screen Sharing is ticked.

Tips for the VNC client

• Set up a complex password (upper and lower case) to be sure to have no problems when using the UltraVNC client.
• You can only use «Millions» of colors, not 256 colors or similar.
• Use the RAW connection mode.
• Set full screen.

When your settings are complete, from the VNC client you can click Save connection info as… to keep a quick .vnc link to your Mac.
