How to change the TeamViewer ID after cloning a PC

When a computer is cloned from an image, the copy keeps the same TeamViewer ID as the original, and the two machines conflict. To generate a new ID, on the cloned computer:

1. Open regedit.exe.
2. Delete the following registry key (where VersionX is the installed TeamViewer version):
   • on 64 bit Windows 7: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\TeamViewer\VersionX
   • on 32 bit Windows 7: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\TeamViewer\VersionX
3. Restart the machine, or just the TeamViewer service.

At the next start TeamViewer will register a new, unique ID.
